If you're using Azure multi-factor authentication, you will likely need to manage your "app passwords". App passwords allow you to sign in to desktop applications without going through the challenge-response process that requires you to verify your identity via a mobile device or a 2nd email address.

Here's how you can create and delete those passwords. Note that you can't change the app password (or even see it again) once they're generated.
  1. Go to https://myapps.microsoft.com and sign in with your Office 365 account
  2. Click on your avatar in the upper right
  3. Click on Profile
  4. Click on Additional Security Verification in the upper right of the screen
  5. Click on App Passwords at the top of the page
    1. If you do not see App Passwords, your account isn't set up for Multi-Factor Authentication
  6. Here you will see a list of passwords you already created
If you haven't created any passwords, the recommended procedure is to create one for each device that you use (rather than for each app, which you can also do).
  1. Click on Create
  2. Give it a name (laptop, for example)
  3. Record the password in a secure location as you will never see it again after you close the window
If you're looking to reset an app password, delete the existing one and and create a new one as described above.
